    • 1). Take out the screws holding the metal plate with the existing power cord to the back of the dryer. If you do not have a cord installed yet, remove the plate with the rectangular hole in the center near the bottom of the appliance, using a screwdriver.

    • 2). Take off the three or four lug nuts inside the dryer on the connection box, depending on which type of cord you will install.

    • 3). Push the loose wires on one end of the power cord through the metal plate and tighten the clamp in the plate with your screwdriver. The clamp prevents the cord from being yanked out of the appliance.

    • 4). Place the round connector on the end of the black wire on the left terminal post and the red wire on the right post. Slip the connector on the white wire onto the center post. If you have a fourth green wire, attach it to the grounded post, which is separate from the wiring box and typically located to the left.

    • 5). Screw a lug nut onto each post and tighten with the hex wrench.

    • 6). Attach the metal plate onto the dryer with screws.

    • 7). Push the blades on the power cord into the wall outlet.
