- 1). Open your preferred web browser and navigate to the Java Runtime Environment download page. (See link in Resources.)
- 2). Locate the version of Java that corresponds with your Windows Professional operating system. It will be near the top of the page.
- 3). Click the "Windows 7/XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline" link. This will download the complete Java installation file to your computer's hard drive. Select an easily-remembered location to save the file to, then click "Save."
- 4). Double-click the installation file once it has finished downloading, then follow the on-screen instructions to install Java on your machine.
