How to Connect an iPod to a Receiver

    • 1). Turn off your receiver before connecting any cables. Never connect peripheral devices to a receiver while it is on.

    • 2). Plug the 3.5 mm end of the Y adapter into your iPod.

    • 3). Plug the opposite end of the Y adapter into the receiver's auxiliary input jacks. These are usually located on the back of the receiver and are colored red and white. Match the red jack to the red input and the white jack to the white input.

    • 4). Turn on your receiver and select the auxiliary input. There is usually a button on the remote or the receiver itself that lets you cycle through input options.

    • 5). Turn on your iPod and play a song. Set the volume on your iPod to about half way. If the volume is set any louder, the sound can become distorted.
