Verse of the Day: Habakkuk"s Prayer - Habakkuk 3:2
Welcome to Verse of the Day!
Today's Bible Verse:
Habakkuk 3:2
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.(NIV)
Today's Inspiring Thought: Habakkuk's Prayer
This entire chapter is the prayer of Habakkuk, the prophet of the Lord. First, he worshiped and praised God's greatness (or fame), and then he declared his own wonder at the deeds performed by the Lord.
Next, he made two requests. He asked for a fresh display of God's power: "Renew your deeds, make them known in our day and in our time." And second, Habakkuk petitioned the Lord for a full measure of his forgiveness: "In wrath remember mercy." This verse makes a great model for opening up our times of prayer and praise.
