Why God Does Not Want to "Give You What You Need" to Live the Christian Life

Today I'm attacking Christian Religion Lie #17, "God wants to give you what you need".
Does God want to give you what you need to be "a good Christian"? Is it your job to ask Him for things to help you live the Christian life? Find out the answers to these questions and more when you read this article right now! I want to make two important points.
1.
As Christians we are complete.
God gave us EVERYTHING we need with the life of Christ.
We have every spiritual gift there is (Ephesians 1:3)...
2.
Some people think "Ephesians says "spiritual gifts"...
what about the rest of life?" When the truth is that EVERYTHING in life, your entire life is spiritual.
There truly is NOTHING secular that you interact with.
See also 2 Peter 1:2-3, "...
has granted us everything pertaining to life...
" The trouble here is that many Christians pray things like...
"God please grant me the wisdom to know what to do"...
When they already have all the wisdom they need in Christ...
and knowing what to do is allowing Christ to express himself through them...
"God please give me your spiritual power to resist the devil" When you don't need power to resist the devil, you have enough power already just by the power of Christ in you...
you simply rest in Him...
and focus on Him and you won't have to focus on "resisting" the devil - it will come naturally.
"God please give me your wisdom so I can know your will" The will of God is Christ...
Can you see how almost everything Christians pray for has already been given to them now that they are in Christ? That's why "God wants to give you everything you need" is a LIE - because you already have EVERYTHING you need...
IN Christ.
