Make Your Own Music CD at Home
- 1). Purchase some blank CDs on which to burn your music. It is recommended, for this task, that you purchase some blank CD-Rs or CD-RWs. A CD-R can be burned onto only once, whereas a CD-RW can be burned over as many times as you wish. Also, bear in mind the disk's memory capacity. Most standard CD-Rs or CD-RWs will allow up to 80 minutes of music to be burned onto them, whereas an MP3 CD will allow more music, but is generally less compatible with a broader array of CD players.
- 2). Acquire appropriate CD burning software to make your CD. A few reputable, highly used programs available for this service are Nero Burning Rom, CDBurnerXP and Roxio. Once you have chosen your software and installed it on your computer system, you will be ready to create your CD.
- 3). Decide what music you want to include on your CD, whether it will be your own music or a selection of different songs that you've picked from a personal playlist. Your music will need to be on your hard drive for it to burn to a CD. When selecting the music for inclusion on the disk, the program will most likely include a drop-down selection of various folders on your computer. Simply find the folder in which your music is saved, and select from there.
- 4). Select a burning rate, once you have chosen the music for your disk. The highest burning rate will ensure that your CD burns at the maximum speed possible, whereas the slowest will ensure that the disk is burned with a decreased likelihood of burning errors. The burning process could take up to 10 minutes depending on the speed of your disk drive and how full the CD is. Once burning is your complete, your CD will be ready to play just about anywhere!
