How to Shine Alcoa Aluminum Wheels
- 1). Mix a car wash with soap and water. Clean the grime, brake dust and sediments off your wheel. Wipe the wheel clean and dry. Use a car wash and not a household soap or detergent.
- 2). Apply the polish with two fingers. Apply liberally, covering the entire portion of the wheel. The polish should leave a black residue. If you do not see a black residue, then you are polishing a clear coat wheel. Clear coat does not need polishing. They should clean to a high shine.
- 3). Wipe the residue off with a soft towel. You can purchase a terry cloth from your local parts house.
- 4). Repeat this step on the remaining wheels. Follow up by coating Armor All or a good tire shine on your tires.
- 5). Polishing your wheels should occur every four to six months. This may vary, as driving conditions and storage of your vehicle play a factor.
