How to Use a BlackBerry Telephone As a Modem
- 1). Insert the BlackBerry Desktop Software installation disc in your computer's optical drive and follow the prompts to install the program. If you do not own a disc, access the BlackBerry website and download the program. Installation will begin once the software is downloaded.
- 2). Connect your BlackBerry telephone to the computer. The telephone may be connected with either a USB or data cable.
- 3). Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software program from the computer's desktop.
- 4). Click "Tools" in the program's main window, then select "Mobile Internet Settings."
- 5). Click your mobile carrier in the "Profile" drop-down menu. The settings to establish an Internet connection will be automatically entered. If your provider is not listed, click "Other" and enter the settings provided by your mobile carrier.
- 6). Click "OK" to save your settings, then click "Tools" again. Click "Start Mobile Internet."
- 7). Click "Connect" and the computer will connect to the Internet by using your BlackBerry telephone as a modem.
