• A torsion bar (also known as a stabilizer bar) is a metal rod that connects to the frame of the vehicle at one end and to the wheel axle at the other. When twisted, its propensity to return to its original position provides the spring mechanism that helps to cushion the vehicle's movements.
  
  

Front Torsion Bar

• In many vehicles, the suspension will feature both a front torsion bar and a rear torsion bar. The front torsion bar connects from the vehicle frame to the front wheel axle, providing increased forward stability.
