    Download from the Internet

    • 1). Go online and download free music to your hard drive. Many up-and-coming artists give away music for free as a way of building up their fan base, and even major artists, like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, have given entire albums away for free on their websites. Sites like Internet Archive, Amazon and last.fm offer free MP3s as promotional tools, and sites like GarageBand and Artist Server offer free music from indie artists, all of which is completely legal.

    • 2). Transfer the MP3s from your hard drive to your iTunes library. Simply drag the files directly onto your "iTunes" icon and they will filter automatically into iTunes.

    • 3). Open iTunes and plug your iPod Touch into your computer using the iPod USB cable. Your device will then appear in the left column of your iTunes browser, beneath "Devices."

    • 4). Transfer your new music to your iPod Touch by dragging the songs from the "Music" library onto the "iPod" icon.
