- 1). Connect your television to your Samsung HDTV by directly inserting an HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort cable into ports on both devices. The type of cable will depend upon the type of ports on both the computer and on the TV.
- 2). Purchase an adapter if your computer and Samsung television do not share the same type of port. For example, if your computer has a DisplayPort out and your TV has an HDMI input port, you will want a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter.
- 3). Set up audio between your computer and television if you are using DVI or VGA cables. Typically, this requires a standard, male headphone jack that converts to standard RCA connectors. You do not need to complete this step with HDMI or DisplayPort cables, which support both audio and video signal.
- 4). Tune your television to the appropriate input to access your computer content. For example, this may be "HDMI1" if you are using an HDMI connection. Change the television input until you locate the correct setting.
