Similarities

• The Garmin nuvi 255W and 255WT have many of the same features. Both offer a 4.3-inch color display, come preloaded with Garmin's NAVTEQ maps and provide turn-by-turn directions and automatic rerouting in case you miss your destination or get off course.

• The Garmin 255WT is equipped with free lifetime traffic updates from Garmin. This feature provides users with real-time updates regarding traffic along their chosen routes, including how long of a delay the traffic will cause. Car locator

• The nuvi 255W does feature a car locator function, which is not found on the nuvi 255WT. This feature allows the nuvi 255W to keep track of where a car has been parked after the unit has been removed from the vehicle.

• Another difference in the two units is price. As of spring 2011, a Garmin nuvi 255W had an average price of around $119, while a Garmin nuvi 255WT sold for an average price of $129.
