Pennsylvanians searching for resources with which to do ministry are in luck, as this historic enclave of religious freedom is home to some very generous and faithful people. Whether you are a seminarian just starting out, or the leader of an established congregation, you can find the funding you need to serve God and your community. - Applicants to the Baptist Bible College (BBC) in Clarks Summit (north of Scranton) are invited to apply for this grant, which contributes $2,000 towards tuition and living expenses (see Resources). Candidates must have demonstrated experience in ministry and the written support of at least one church leader.
- This funding is available to selected congregations in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. It is intended to be used for launching ministry projects such as church planting, missions, racial reconciliation, and youth scholarships. A detailed summary of the planned expenses and revenues must be submitted along with a completed application to the District Superintendent (see Resources).
- Lutherans in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod are eligible for grants of up to $250 for campus ministry projects. These may include travel to conferences, hosting on-campus events, or congregational outreach to students. Applicants should submit their plans in writing, and must agree to write a summary of the event for the Campus Ministry website within two weeks of its completion (see Resources).
