- 1). Download the CAB installation file for the desired GPS software to your computer (see Resources).
- 2). Save the CAB file to your computer’s desktop for quick access when copying to your mobile device.
- 3). Connect the iPAQ to the computer by placing the device into a charging cradle that is connected to the computer. The ActiveSync program will start when the iPAQ is detected by Windows. Make sure the iPAQ is turned on.
- 4). Click “Explore” in the ActiveSync window to open the file explorer.
- 5). Drag the CAB file from the desktop and drop the file into the root directory of the iPAQ.
- 6). Disconnect the iPAQ from the cradle.
- 7). Tap “Start” and then tap “My Documents” on the iPAQ. The CAB file will be located at the bottom of the My Documents list, if you saved the file to the root of the mobile device.
- 8). Tap the CAB file to install the GPS software onto the device. A progress bar will monitor the installation process, and a notification window will appear when the software is installed.
