    • The EVO 4G features a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels. The EVO 4G’s screen displays up to 65,000 colors and features scratch-resistant glass, an accelerometer, multi-touch capabilities and light and proximity sensors. The EVO 3D features a 4.3-inch 3D-capable capacitive LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels. The EVO 3D’s screen features an accelerometer, multi-touch input, Gorilla Glass and proximity and light sensors.

    Cameras

    • HTC outfits the EVO 4G with two built-in digital cameras. The EVO 4G’s primary camera is rear-facing and has an eight-megapixel sensor, dual LED flash, digital zoom, autofocus and 720p video capabilities. The EVO 4G’s secondary camera has a 1.3-megapixel sensor and faces frontwards. HTC equips the EVO 3D with a total of three digital cameras. The phone’s primary cameras are both rear-facing and feature dual five-megapixel sensors, dual LED flash, autofocus and the ability to capture 3D images and videos at resolutions up to two megapixels. The phone’s third camera is front-facing and features a 1.3-megapixel sensor.

    Size and Battery Life

    • The EVO 3D is the larger of the two phones. It measures 4.96 inches tall, 2.57 inches wide and 0.44 inches thick at its thickest point. The EVO 4G measures 4.8 inches tall, 2.6 inches wide and 0.5 inches thick. Both phones weigh approximately six ounces before optional upgrades and accessories. A 1,730-mAh lithium-ion battery provides the EVO 3D with up to 358 hours of standby time per charge. A 1,500-mAh lithium-ion battery provides the EVO 4G with up to 146 hours of standby time per charge.

    Connectivity

    • The EVO 4G runs on CDMA cellular technology, while the EVO 3D runs on HSDPA cellular technology. The EVO 4G transfers data at rates up to 3.1 megabits per second, while the EVO 3D transfers data at rates up to 14.4 megabits per second under ideal conditions. The EVO 4G has an integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi card, compared to an 802.11b/g/n card for the EVO 3D. Both phones can be used as Wi-Fi hotspots for other mobile devices. The EVO 4G has Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities, while the EVO 3D has Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities.

    Additional Information

    • HTC outfits the EVO 4G with a single-core ,1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. HTC equips the EVO 3D with a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. The EVO 4G comes with 8GB of onboard storage space, while the EVO 3D comes with 1GB. Both phones have media card slots compatible with microSD and microSDHC media cards up to 32GB in size. Both phones also have USB 2.0 and HDMI ports.
