You've got a great idea for a new product or a more efficient way of running your business, but the problem is, in order to bring your idea to fruition, you need to build a prototype of your machine. You could spend hours reading up on the complexities of electronic engineering and build this prototype yourself, possibly getting everything hopelessly wrong, or you could hire an firm of engineering specialists to do this for you.

Engineering companies regularly make prototypes for all sorts of different machines. They have specialists in different aspects of engineering – from engineers skilled in transformer prototyping to electromagnetics and inductors.

The first step in hiring an engineering company will be a product design consultation. You'll sit down with the engineers and discuss the design and how their experts in transformer prototyping will make it happen.

An engineering company will work with you to ensure the design of the machines does what you require of it, while meeting their own rigorous safety and quality standards. Since their name will be on your prototype, they'll make sure you're using the most state-of-the-art components and methods, and they won't let anything into your control unless they're satisfied it's safe.

Your transformer prototype engineers and other specialists from the electrical engineering company will keep you informed throughout the process. They will likely go through several steps, including the initial design consultation, research and investigation into industry standards (especially if they're not familiar with your industry), developing complex documentation and quantity surveying of materials and, of course, extensive testing of the prototype.

They'll then build your prototype based on the conclusions they've drawn from their research and design. This will require further testing, but most electrical engineering firms try to have the finished prototype ready for you as soon as possible. They will ship it to your plant or workshop (hopefully using the cheapest and safest means required).

All this ensures that when the project has finished, you have a safe, working prototype that correctly demonstrates your new idea. Now you can take that to the people with the money who can turn your idea into a reality.
